After a direct flight from Paris at the beginning of 2022, I arrived in San José, Costa Rica, to fish once more with Cedric Lageat, who has been living on the Pacific coast for several years in the village of Quepos.

This was my third stay with Cedric and nothing had changed, or almost nothing, since my last visit (before the Covid restrictions). His villa on the heights of Quepos offers as much comfort as ever, with an impeccable welcome, service and cuisine, all in a friendly, family-oriented atmosphere.

Even with these major benefits, it was the quality of the fishing that accounted for my decision to return. I had no particular strategy; this destination offers so many possibilities that it seems complicated for me to devise a specific plan of action…
