La 19^ème cérémonie d’intronisation au panthéon de la pêche sportive de l’International Game Fish Association (www.igfa.org) s’est déroulée en octobre 2017 au Johnny Morris World of Wonders of Wildlife, à Springfield, Missouri, la nouvelle demeure du musée de l'IGFA.

Ont été félicités pour l’ensemble de leur carrière, de gauche à droite en photo :

-Dr. Eric Prince : Biologiste spécialiste des poissons à rostre, membre fondateur de The Billfish Foundation, fervent promoteur de l'utilisation des hameçons circle, Eric Prince a travaillé 35 ans pour le National Marine Fisheries Service (USA).

-Peter Fithian : Fondateur du Hawaiian International Billfish Tournament en 1959, qu'il dirige toujours aujourd'hui. Également fondateur de la Pacific Ocean Research Foundation.

-Mike Levitt : Ancien président de l'IGFA, détenteur de 16 records du monde dont plusieurs sur fil fin du marlin noir et du marlin blanc, Mike Levitt a joué un rôle déterminant dans la conception de bateau de pêche modernes.

-Rick Clunn : Quatre fois vainqueur du Bassmaster Classic, animateur de télévision élu « plus grand pêcheur de black bass » en 2005.

-Larry Dahlberg : Créateur de la fameuse mouche Dahlberg Diver fly, ainsi que de nombreuses autres innovations relative à la pêche sportive, ce baroudeur animateur de shows télévisés a pêché dans plus de 80 pays ces 50 ans dernières années !

 

 

IGFA Fishing Hall of Fame

The 19th Annual IGFA Fishing Hall of Fame Inductees were inducted at Johnny Morris’ World of Wonders of Wildlife National Museum and Aquarium in Springfield, Missouri, the new home of the IGFA Fishing Hall of Fame, in October 2017.

Congratulations went to (from left to right) :

Dr. Eric Prince:
 An originator of the 
Billfish Foundation
 with 35 years as a
 billfish biologist with 
the National Marine 
Fisheries Service.
 A leading billfish researcher and proponent of the use of circle hooks.

Peter Fithian:
 Founder of the Hawaiian International Billfish
 Tournament in 1959,
 which he is still running today. Also founder of the Pacific Ocean 
Research Foundation to 
study blue marlin.

Mike Levitt:
 A former chairman of the 
IGFA and holder of 16 
world records including 
light line class records 
for black and white
 marlin that still stand 
today. Instrumental in 
modern sport fishing boat
 design.

Rick Clunn: 4-time Bassmaster 
Classic winner, voted the 
“Greatest Bass Angler”
 of all time in ESPN’s 
Greatest Angler Debate 
in 2005.


Larry Dahlberg:
 Creator of the unique 
Dahlberg Diver fly,
 as well as many others fishing innovations, also 
a TV show host who has 
fished for over 50 years
 visiting 80 countries!
