Established in 2010, Salty Dog is a family owned business as Lisl Haldenwang explains: “The Salty Dog team is a small one but driven by passion. We are dedicated to all aspects of game fishing, including conservation. With my husband Paul we try to provide a more enjoyable experience for our clients through meaningful connections with local people, and a greater understanding of local cultural and environmental issues. As a result, our motto is: “catch & release” and respect the oceans, coastal habitats and communities. We focus mainly on West Africa. From offshore blue water fishing to estuarine, mangrove and beach fishing; targeting blue marlin, sailfish and wahoo offshore, and tarpon, cubera snappers, giant African threadfin, barracudas, longfin jacks, guitar fish inshore. Our Gabon locations are as much focused on fishing as they are on the wildlife. We have also offered guided trips to Sierra Leone, Liberia, Sao Tome and Guinea-Bissau since 2008. In the UK, we operate guided seabass fishing days during the summer months out of Chichester harbour on the south coast of England.”
